Jim and Maureen Stone
Jim is a Professional Certified Coach with a passion for working with people who are pursing more fruitful lives, work and relationships that align with the core values, strengths, and purpose. He enjoys working with people from different cultures, races, places, and perspectives. As a life and leadership coach he guides, encourages, and supports individuals, couples and groups who desire a closer relationship with God and are seeking to discern and follow God’s unique plans for their lives and work. (Ephesians 2:10)
Jim has over 30 years of experience as a full time and bi-vocational pastor in churches ranging from small town to inner-city, including interracial and international congregations. He was the Director of Mental Health of the Syracuse Rescue Mission. He has been a chaplain in a psychiatric center and in medical hospitals, including work in a NICU. He has served on the boards of organizations that work with international students, people with disabilities, and Christian athletes. Jim has a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Marriage and Family Ministry from Eastern Baptist (now Palmer) Theological Seminary.
Jim’s partner in life and ministry is his wife Maureen, who is also a Professional Certified Coach. They are active members of the Upstate New York Chapter of the International Coaching Federation, including serving on the chapter leadership team. Jim as President and Maureen as Program Director. Both are certified Coach Presenters with Promised Land Living and Facilitators with Prayer Powered Master Minds Groups which are group coaching ministries designed to help people grow closer to God in their lives and work. They especially enjoy coaching couples who are also seeking to grow and serve together.
Jim and Maureen live in Upstate New York. They enjoy meeting new people, exploring new places and spending time with friends and family, including his children and grandchildren. Jim’s oldest son was born with severe disabilities, and was not expected to survive, but lived to be 34, constantly surprising and inspiring others by the way he loved God and enjoyed life. Jim’s youngest daughter was adopted from Vietnam. His other daughter and son are both physical therapists (inspired by their older brother and following in the footsteps of Jim’s mother). Jim’s deepest desire and prayer is for his family, friends, clients and the world to Trust God and Enjoy Life.
Maureen is an enthusiastic life and leadership coach desiring that others reach their full God-given potential. As an experienced Professional Certified Coach, Maureen cherishes the value of coaching and appreciates the impact of the coaching process on individuals, teams, and groups. She feels that coaching is part of God’s calling for her and particularly at this time in her life. “…and who knows but that you have come…for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14).
A big part of her calling is coaching together with her husband, Jim Stone, also an ICF Professional Certified Coach. In addition to coaching both individuals and couples, both are certified Coach Presenters with Promised Land Living and Facilitators with Prayer Powered Master Mind Groups, group coaching processes designed to journey with God more closely.
In addition to being a coach, Maureen is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, providing training and coaching to individuals and teams in Motivational Interviewing (MI). MI can help you work with a team to encourage positive change and action. Maureen is also a certified Restorative Practices Trainer and can provide teams with training in Community Building and Restorative Discipline.
Maureen obtained a Master of Education degree in School Counseling, advanced degrees Educational Administration and School Counseling and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Rochester in 2014.
Maureen and her husband Jim reside in Upstate New York. They enjoy quality moments of life together with friends and family, including Jim’s children and grandchildren.
